I think auto farms are when it strays too much from minecraft. Also too much detail on the things like mobs which always have been pretty much in the blocks conistently & not well kinda like modded mobs. things like that. its more the style of it not the function.

I was also young back then, but I didn't like Story Mode just based on what kind of game it was. Like you said, Minecraft was where you could do anything, so suddenly being so restricted was very weird.

Personally I believe if Minecraft story mode was similar to a degree with how Fallout plays their stories the games would have been better. Rather than having one story you can branch out to several variations different endings that could be good, bad, neutral, etc.

I came back to mc after a couple years long break, played like an hour, got bored and quit, then i got curious abt beta, downloaded it, played a little and now it's the second week of me playing it and I can't get enough, i wana build so many things and explore the world as much as i ca . that's the motivation and excitement modern mc just doesnt give me, i thought mb im too old for this game or depressed but nope, it's really about the game itself. Playing beta makes me feel like the kid I was some 11 years ago (even tho my first mc was after the adventure update), i love how simple and focused it is, i love having just one type of stone and one type of wood, i love that me, a player, is alone in that world, i love not being bothered by wandering traders and pillagers, i love that there are no villages cause in modern mc they are so common that im sick of stumbling upon yet anoter, and, of course, i love beta's unique terrain gheneration compared to modern mc's realistic terrain that looks just boring to me.

Honestly i dont want to explore anymore couse the new world generation just killed it. You can find beautiful lands in every corner before that you just traveled thousands of blocks to find the perfect spot you cant do that anymore. Its a good update but really brake it the immersion to me

(Partially biased given that I’m looking through a nostalgia lens) I appreciate MC story mode for what it was - Sure, the story was nothing groundbreaking and the gameplay itself was just alright (I hope you like spamming Q), but I still found it more than enjoyable enough. I don’t think they really achieved the whole “fun for everyone” thing, given that ten-year-old me was FAR more interested in the plot than the current me, but I do think it worked well for kids as a sort of early introduction to those sorts of multiple choice games.

Caves and cliffs update it garbage, world gen is basically just amplified and almost always looks esthetically unpleasant.

this game gets too much hate, was the first game i played on my Xbox and I have good memories from it even though I couldn't play actual minecraft at the time

A game that reminds me of tell tale games is henry stickmin as you choose what happens just like minecraft story mode and other stuff

I think story mode will return its just going to take a while or they at least purchase the rights to sell the old games

still very thankful to have S1 on a physical copy, i still play from time to time on my switch :)
